Harold M. DeLurey of Alexander J. Avenue, formerly of Valley Falls, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy. He was 80.

Born on July 18, 1932 in Easton, son of the late Michael and Marguerite (Carr) DeLurey. On June 16, 1956 he married his wife of 56 years, Diane (Philpott) DeLurey.

Mr. DeLurey retired from Grand Union in 1994 and served on the Hoosic Valley Rescue Squad for 37 years. He was an avid NASCAR fan and was passionate about cars.

Survivors in addition to his wife Diane include their four daughters, Jo-Anne (Rick) Reed of The Woodlands, TX, Cheryl (John) Ryan and Holly (Mark) Patenaude both of Valley Falls and Cindi (Michael) Breen of Halfmoon, their grandchildren, Jeremy Ryan of Los Angeles, CA, Meghan (Dan)King of Hoboken, NJ, Brooke Ryan and Brianna Ryan both of Valley Falls, Jay Reed and Brett Reed both of The Woodlands, TX, Conor Patenaude of Valley Falls and Emerson Breen and Ryleigh Breen both of Halfmoon.

Harold is predeceased by his brothers Gerald and Donald DeLurey.

Relatives and friends may call from 4-7pm on Tuesday, February 26 at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 173 Main Street, Schaghticoke. Funeral service will be conducted at 10am on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Hoosick Rural Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, kindly consider memorials to the Hoosic Valley Rescue Squad or the John H. Ahearn Rescue Squad in honor of Harold.
