William F. Heslin, Sr.

William F. Heslin Sr., 82, of Lyon Street in Valley Falls died on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 22, 1926 in Cohoes, NY to the late William H. & Theresa Cavanaugh Heslin. Husband of Jane A. Wadsworth Heslin whom he married in 1951.

Bill was a truck driver for the Grand Union Corporation in Waterford for 32 years. A veteran of the United States Army serving from November 1945 to December 1946.  He was a member of the Valley Falls VFW 1938 and the American Legion Post 490 in Stillwater.

Survivors in addition to his wife include one son William F. Heslin (Darlene Piper) of Schaghticoke, One daughter Sherry (Clayton) Bullett of Columbus, Ohio.,  One brother Raymond Heslin of Mechanicville and a sister Mary Haughney of Ayers, MA., Three grandchildren William F. Heslin IV, Cara Bullett, Chip Bullett (Tiffany), and one great-granddaughter Kyra Bullett.

He was predeceased by a brother Leo Heslin, a sister Dorothy Gifford and his Grandson Michael Heslin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday morning, October 4, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Argyle with Pastor Eileen Demming officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 in his memory.

Bill will be sorely missed.
I moved to Texas nearly 30 years ago, but I still have great memories working with him at Grand Union.
